The birthplace of Nissan Shatai is the Shonan area in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The Shonan Plant has operated continuously in this location over the past 70 years. This plant has annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles through a two-shift system and brings together production processes including car body production, painting, and assembly, as well as the production engineering division that provides support for these production processes, as well as headquarter functions. Currently, we product two models: "NV200 Vanette", "AD".

Continue to drive strong growth in demand for LCV (light commercial vehicles) and so we need the type of specialized knowhow able to handle the development and production of the durable and diverse vehicles this market requires. Nissan Shatai has built up its knowledge base and made progress with the technology in this area through the development and production of a large number of LCV vehicles including its Caravan and NV200 Vanette models and with the global developmental support of Nissan, and its role as mother plant, it continues to play its part in maintaining the traditions of Japanese manufacturing.
