Biodiversity

Based on the Nissan Group’s environmental philosophy of “Symbiosis of People, Vehicles and Nature,” Nissan Shatai and Nissan Shatai Kyushu recognizes the importance of environmental conservation and has established as its own environmental philosophy a commitment to manufacturing vehicles that are kind to people, society, and nature, and to contributing to the conservation of the local environment and the development of a prosperous society.
As a company that coexists with society, the environment, and nature, we actively engage in community contribution activities related to the conservation of natural capital, including environmental resources.
In November 2025, Nissan Shatai took part in the “Sagami River Site Inspection, Cleanup, and Planting Activity,” working together with neighboring companies, local governments, and elementary schools in the city on environmental conservation activities, including cleaning up the area around the Sagami River and planting 4,000 tulip bulbs. In addition, in October 2025, Nissan Shatai Kyushu took part in the “Shiraishi Coast Cleanup Activity (Clean-up Campaign),” working together with Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and neighboring companies to clean up debris washed ashore on the coast.
In addition, we are working to conserve biodiversity in the areas surrounding our plants, minimize the impact on the natural environment, and prevent situations that could lead to environmental pollution. Nissan Shatai has installed devices at the main rainwater discharge outlets within its plants to continuously monitor the quality of rainwater. Even in the unlikely event that a problem within the plant premises causes oil or chemical substances that could affect the environment to contaminate the rainwater, these devices activate and automatically close the discharge outlets, preventing the outflow of contaminants outside the plant.
In parallel with these initiatives, and with a view to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, we have established an environmental policy that includes the efficient use of energy at our plants and business sites to reduce CO2 emissions, the appropriate management and reduction of waste and improvement of resource recycling, and the prevention of situations that could lead to environmental pollution. Through this policy, we aim to achieve both environmental conservation and the reduction of our environmental burden, and to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society in harmony with local communities.
