Nissan Shatai is a complete vehicle manufacturer of primarily commercial vehicles and premium cars that is engaged in the full-range of processes from development to production. When producing a new car, based on the concept and design for the car, it carries out processes from development including design, prototyping, and testing, to preparations for production such as plant assembly line design and introduction of facilities, pressing, welding of car body, painting, vehicle assembly, and quality assurance. Through the collective strength of Nissan Shatai, which possesses functions from development to production, we deliver quality cars worldwide.
Development
The design that determines the basic car design is the front end of building product.
The development divisions design the structure of vehicles for actual production, including drawing up plans for vehicle weight and dimensions, designing the various parts, and placing parts on the vehicle. Through technologies such as virtual analysis, and over repeated cycles of checks for high productivity before mass production and testing on the test courses, we carry out efficient design work with zero design changes.
Production preparation
We are very good at developing compact and efficient production lines based on the combination of our long experience and new technology.
Preparing vehicles for production involves processes such as designing production line processes that are necessary for the production of new cars, and introducing production facilities. Based on the concept of the Nissan Production Way (NPW), we have established highly productive, quality plants through the introduction of cutting-edge technology and facilities.
Production
The high-mix, low-volume vehicle production Shonan Plant, and our latest, cutting edge Nissan Shatai Kyushu Plant.
Nissan Shatai's production bases are the Shonan Plant and Nissan Shatai Kyushu. The Shonan Plant is a compact and highly efficient plant, embodying the culmination of knowhow about high-mix low-volume vehicle production built up through Nissan Shatai's long history. Nissan Shatai Kyushu is committed to improving production efficiency through an automated car body welding line that uses the latest robots, an environmentally friendly painting line that incorporates the latest technologies, and a car assembly line that is operated by highly-skilled, well-trained employees. It has also realized a vehicle manufacturing system that produces quality cars while remaining environmentally friendly.
Our products
Nissan Shatai manufactures Nissan brand vehicles, mainly LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles) and premium cars, and delivers them to customers in Japan and around the world. Nissan Shatai (Shonan Plant) produces two models such as the "NV200 Vanette", "AD"(LCVs). Nissan Shatai Kyushu produces five models such as the "Elgrand" minivan, Nissan’s premium brand INFINITI "QX80", "Patrol Y62", "Armada" (SUVs) and the "Caravan" (LCV).
