@In the current automobile industry in Japan,
integration of manufacturing bases and international
and domestic business alliances are going
on because of such factors as reduced domestic
production caused by increased production
in overseas operations and an increase in
the number of imported vehicles. When we
take a look at the domestic market, customers'
needs are becoming more and more diversified
as indicated by facts such as the higher
share of RV's in the market. To cope with
this trend, all automobile manufacturers
in Japan are successively putting more attractive
and more cost competitive new models into
the market, resulting in excessively fierce
competition.
@In such a hard environment, Nissan Shatai
has been making efforts to provide, in a
timely manner, excellent products which will
never fail to meet customers' expectations.
To attain this goal, we have fully utilized
our special capability of multi-model medium/small-volume
production by virtue of rapid development
through the use of 3-D CAD system and our
world's top level flexible body assembly
lines. At the same time, we are continuously
strengthening our consistent vehicle manufacturing
capability which encompasses everything from
product planning to R & D, production
and quality assurance as a "manufacturer
specialized in RV's and CV's". As a
result of this, Nissan Shatai is now providing
to our users RV's such as ELGRAND, Prairie
Liberty, and Wingroad, CV's such as Caravan
and AD Van, microbus CIVILIAN, and so on.
This means that 12 models or approximately
one third of Nissan's total models are being
manufactured in Nissan Shatai.
@We are determined to keep devoting ourselves
to manufacture of safer and more environment-friendly
products of much higher quality so as to
be able to provide NISSAN vehicles which
will be appreciated and relied upon by people
all over the world. So, I would like to solicit
your continued advice and support.
