Such data as market trend, social development and customers' needs are carefully studied to create and determine the fundamental planning of the new model as a concrete product. The concept of the new model thus determined is conveyed to the styling and design departments.

Based upon the concept created in the Product Planning stage, designers draw a number of sketches. These sketches are then scrutinized from every possible viewpoints to be finalized as a model provided with a beautiful and attractive form.
Based on the model created by the Styling Department, drawings for products which will satisfy customers are prepared by fully utilizing the most advanced CAD system in accordance with a great deal of data on safety, comfort and driving performance.
Strict experiments are repeated by using prototype vehicles to ensure achievement of originally intended functions and performances.

Stamping dies, assembling jigs and tools for building vehicles are designed and manufactured by the aid of computers.

Steel sheets are stamped into vehicle body parts such as door panels by press machines.

Stamped parts and sub-assembled body parts are collected and assembled into vehicle bodies mainly in IBS (Intelligent Body Assembly System) line. IBS is a fully-automatic versatile vehicle body assembling system, enabling a single line to manufacture various types of bodies. This is a top level system of this kind in Japan contributing to shorter new model launching period and higher product quality.

After the degreasing treatment, the fabricated body is coated with rustproof paint. Then, the body is carefully given layers of coating by automatic electrostatic spraying machines.

A manufacturing process where interior parts such as instrument panel and exterior parts such as window glasses are fitted.

The engine, transmission, wheels and other parts are mounted onto the trimmed body. Here, the completed vehicle leaves the assembly line.

The completed vehicles pass through strict inspection procedures for brakes, speedometer calibration, body watertightness, exhaust emission level, etc.

Vehicles which passed the inspection are properly prepared for shipment to customers.
