The core technology of the IBS is small-sized robots called NC locators. Based on the coordinates information transmitted from a computer, each locator can move freely to a specified position. Employing multiple NC locators to handle fixing jigs allows us to secure parts of different shapes in multiple positions.
NC locator: Numerical Control locating device
By deploying these NC locators in every process of a vehicle body assembly line, one assembly line can now assemble vehicles of any shape. In the past, using an exclusive tray that is geared to each part, one assembly line could manage only several models. |
